Epithalon
Also known as Epitalon, AEDG peptide, Epithalone
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide derived from the pineal gland extract Epithalamin. It's best known for activating telomerase — the enzyme that maintains telomere length — making it one of the most studied compounds for cellular longevity.
How it works
Binds to chromatin and epigenetically reactivates telomerase (hTERT), extending telomere length in aging cells. Also regulates the hypothalamic-pituitary axis and melatonin secretion.
Benefits
- Activates telomerase, promoting telomere lengthening and cellular longevity
- Regulates melatonin and pineal gland output, improving sleep quality
- Antioxidant and antimutagenic properties
- Neuroprotective effects
- Modulates neuroendocrine function and hormonal balance
- Shown to extend lifespan in animal models by 24–33%
Dosing
5000–10000 mcg · Once daily
Typically run as a 10-day course, 1–2x per year. Some protocols run 20 days.
Ranges reflect commonly cited research protocols, not a prescription. Dose with a licensed provider.
