Pinealon
Also known as EDR peptide, Glu-Asp-Arg
Pinealon is a short tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) developed in Russia alongside Epithalon. It penetrates the blood-brain barrier and acts as a DNA-targeting neuroprotective agent, shown to extend lifespan and protect neurons in aged animals.
How it works
Short peptide that penetrates cell membranes and the BBB. Binds chromatin in neurons, regulating DNA transcription. Increases tyrosine hydroxylase and tryptophan hydroxylase expression, boosting catecholamine synthesis.
Benefits
- Penetrates blood-brain barrier directly
- Neuroprotective — reduces neuronal death
- Normalizes serotonin and dopamine synthesis in aging brain
- Geroprotective — shown to extend lifespan in animal models
- DNA repair and protection in neurons
- Improves cognitive function in aging
